By opening its first loan production office in the Northland

Bank of Blue Valley, a Kansas-based financial institution, has nearly doubled the size of its mortgage division with the addition of Charles Merritt, president and owner of Kansas-based Merrlin Mortgage and most of his staff.

Mr Merritt operated Merrlin for 17 years, closed his mortgage company and joined Blue Valley as the new leader of the bank’s mortgage division. He also operated a loan production office in Gladstone, Missouri which has been reopened as a Blue Valley loan production office. The Gladstone office gives Blue Valley its first loan production office in the Northland and a Missouri presence.

Robert Regnier, chairman and CEO of Blue Valley, said: “We continue to be an active lender in our community. The addition of Mr. Merritt and his team gives us the expertise to expand our operation and provide more choices to consumers not only in Johnson County, but now in the Northland.”
