Bank of America has announced that Emily Shanks will resume her role as East Bay market president.

Ms Shanks will succeed Steve Silvestri, who retired from the company at the end of 2007. Ms Shanks, who served as market president from 2001 to 2004, will retain her current role as business banking market executive for the Greater Bay area. As market president, she will provide business, civic and philanthropic leadership for Bank of America throughout the East Bay.

Ms Shanks will work to strengthen communication and integration among the company’s local business lines, continuously improve customer experience, grow revenue in the state and enhance Bank of America’s presence in the community.

Janet Lamkin, president of California at Bank of America, said: Bank of America is very fortunate to have an outstanding leader, civic champion and experienced banker like Emily to lead our team in the East Bay. Emily Shanks has excelled at managing our business banking team in the region. I have no doubt her success will continue as she resumes a role she is very familiar with.
