Bank of America has named David Rudis as the checking and debit product executive reporting to Susan Faulkner, deposits and student lending executive. In addition, he will serve as market president for Chicago as well as Illinois state president.

Mr Rudis’ appointment marks another senior executive with national responsibilities that Bank of America has based in Chicago including Gene Godbold, president of the bank’s commercial real estate division.

In his role as checking and debit executive, Mr Rudis will have national, end- to-end responsibility for checking and debit product strategy, management and integration. This position includes accountability for developing and monitoring products and services to continually meet customers’ changing needs.

Mr Rudis will succeed John Brennan as Chicago market president and Illinois state president. Brennan plans to pursue other opportunities following the completion of his current role with the LaSalle transition.

Mr Rudis was formerly president of the personal financial services division at LaSalle Bank and responsible for the company’s strategy and growth overseeing retail banking operations of the 400-plus branch network across three states.

As market president, Mr Rudis will provide business, civic and philanthropic leadership for Bank of America in Chicago and throughout Illinois. He will work to strengthen communication and integration among the company’s local business lines, continuously improve customer experience, grow revenue in the state and enhance Bank of America’s presence in the community.
