Indian private sector bank Axis Bank has awarded a five-year outsourcing contract to Firstsource Solutions, a BPO services provider.
Under the pact, Firstsource will offer retail customers of Axis Bank contact services (voice, email and web chat).
India-based Firstsource will offer these services from its centers in Mumbai and Chennai in 11 Indian languages.
Firstsource EVP and head of Asia Business Unit Chandra Iyer said BPO outsourcing is still in the nascent stage as far as the Indian banking sector goes but its advantages are well-documented internationally and Firstsource hope to bring these advantages to Axis Bank.
