Barclays France has selected Atos Worldline, an Atos Origin company, to renew its network of automated teller machines in an attempt to meet the challenges presented by the new EMV and NAC standards, or New Cryptographic Rules.

Atos Worldline said this new agreement builds upon its existing relationship with Barclays bank which began in 2000 when the company was granted management of 16 Barclays automated teller machines (ATMs) in France and Monaco.

Barclays France hopes the collaboration will enable it to comply with the new EMV and NAC standards, or New Cryptographic Rules, which tighten the security of exchanges between ATMs and the ATM/ABM management system.

The bank has also claimed that Atos’ provision of the turnkey service was completed in one month to be in line with the EMV schedule. The newly installed Wincor ATMs are expected to be more ergonomic, upgradeable, long-lasting and cost effective of future regulatory and technical changes.
