Australia and New Zealand Bank (ANZ) is now operating from a temporary location in Mau’fanga. Services offered include deposit, withdrawal, treasury and telegraphic transfer services from the temporary branch, as well as loan enquiries.

Staff in both Tonga and Melbourne worked throughout the weekend to bring services back up in Tonga. New systems are being restored daily and we expect to have full service available to customers within the next few weeks, ANZ managing director for the Pacific, Mike Guerin, said.

Daily radio announcements will be made regarding the update of services by ANZ general manager Paul Peltzer until ANZ is fully operational.
