American Express and Transaction Network Services (TNS) have unveiled a new payment service provider solution which leverages a single-source for online payment functionality.

The solution, known as American Express Payment Gateway, will allow all types of businesses to manage e-commerce, other card-not-present transactions and will provide fraud and card data security for the transactions.

It will also accept global payments with multi-currency enablement in more than 120 global currencies.

The solution will fulfill business needs through hosted solutions, standard or custom implementation, in-country solutions and will deliver value-added services, such as Accertify’s fraud management solution, cardholder authentication capabilities, and TNS’ tokenization solution.

American Express Global Network Business senior vice president and general manager senior vice president Suzan Kereere said that through their relationship with merchants, the bank knows they are looking for a more reliable, global and stand-alone e-commerce payment solution.

"The American Express Payment Gateway will enable businesses to focus their efforts on expanding their market reach, while we manage the processing, security and service behind online card acceptance," Kereere said.

The solution will be initially launched in four countries which includes the US, Mexico, the UK and Australia.
