On the back of the product's success, Alliance & Leicester International has made its Island Easy Access account available to all UK and international customers.
The account, which was launched in January 2005, has until now been available only to Isle of Man residents. However, due to customer demand, the bank has decided to open up the account to non-Isle of Man residents with immediate effect.
The Island Easy Access account requires a minimum balance of GBP10,000 and offers an interest rate of 4.55% Gross PA/AER (including 0.30% premium interest), and unlimited easy access withdrawals.
The Island Easy Access account has proved to be very popular with customers on the Isle of Man who are looking for a flexible savings account, commented Simon Hull, managing director of Alliance & Leicester International. Following feedback from non-Isle of Man customers we have taken the decision to make the account available to all.
Mr Hull also revealed that the bank has seen an increase in the number of customers using its website, where an application form for the Island Easy Access account can be obtained.
