ABN AMRO, a Netherlands-based financial services firm, has opened a new branch office in New York. The opening of the unit will give Dutch clients access to the US markets and US companies, while US businesses in turn will gain access to Dutch companies and equities.
The unit in New York will serve as the local point of contact for Dutch companies doing or seeking to do business and needing banking products in the US, and will also help clients conducting business activities there.
Joop Wijn, managing board member of ABN AMRO, said: “Our primary purpose in opening the branch in New York is to serve Dutch companies. We aim to be their primary bank, both at home and abroad. And it is specifically for internationally operating organisations that ABN AMRO has chosen to have its own branches in countries where many Dutch companies are active.”
Following the opening of the New York branch, ABN AMRO has an international network covering 27 countries in the world’s three most important time zones.
