Ahli United Bank (AUB), a Bahrain-based financial group, has signed an agreement with telecommunications operator Zain Bahrain to extend its consumer mobile banking solution to all Zain Bahrain's Hewar post-paid and eeZee pre-paid customers.

The new features enable Zain Bahrain customers to check their AUB account balance, pay their telephone and other utilities’ bills, or top up their prepaid accounts at the click of a button on their mobiles. By texting the designated transaction code to the dedicated service number, customers can also request a cheque book or an account statement, view loan balance and even transfer funds between AUB accounts.

Abdulla Al-Raeesi, DGCEO of retail banking at AUB, said: “This service is proving very popular as it enables our customers to keep track of their accounts and carry out a wide range of transactions on-the-go from the palm of their hand. They can do so irrespective where they are and at anytime of day or night.”

Linda Al-Jamea, commercial support director at Zain Bahrain, said: “Zain Bahrain is constantly pushing the boundaries of telecoms use and we believe this is a service that our customers will find immensely useful and convenient.”
