BAML Canada Hires New Head Of Structured Solutions Group

Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) Canada has appointed Paul Hansen as head of the country’s structured solutions group.

Mr Hansen will report jointly to Lynn Patterson, president and country head of BAML Canada and Liam O’Neil, who heads the structured solutions group in the Americas out of New York.

Mr Hansen will oversee the array of retail structured products at BAML Canada.

Before joining BAML, Mr Hansen was at CIBC from 2000 to 2009. During that time he held senior positions in structured products structuring and distribution.

Prior to that, Mr Hansen earned his CA designation while at Arthur Andersen, where he was a risk management consultant for derivatives groups at financial institutions.

Mr Patterson said: “Paul is joining us at a time when market volatility is causing investors to reevaluate their risk tolerance. He will be in charge of developing innovative tools to help Canadian clients achieve their investment goals.”
