Standard Chartered has hired three new senior executives to its wholesale banking operations in the region as part of strategy to increase focus on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Ragnar Meitern joins Standard Chartered bringing with him a decade of experience at Citi in the US, UK and the UAE. He will be focusing on the bank’s MENA and European technology, media and telecommunications clients.

Feras Darwish joins as head of network clients, MENA and Pakistan. Mr Darwish joins the bank with 14 years of global corporate banking experience in the Middle East including Mashreq Bank and ANZ Grindlays. Based in Dubai, he will be responsible for driving business across the network with a particular focus on linking clients in South Korea, India, Greater China and Africa with the

MENA region.

Karine Zakhour joins the bank as head of origination and client coverage in Lebanon. Ms Zakhour, previously worked at Citibank and Byblos Bank, will be responsible for developing and building client relationships in Lebanon.
